We supported this event with Marketing (Design, Social Media, Networking and PR) services. We’re really chuffed that we managed to train so many people!  Here’s the Press Release:

Michele Trevor, Mini First Aid “I’m so proud of what we have achieved today. I lost my Dad to cardiac arrest so I am so passionate about getting more people trained in CPR. It’s so very important, it could make such a big difference.”

Kerry Perks, Perks Marketing said: “We’ve volunteered our time over the last few weeks to organise and promote this event as there isn’t one offered in York as part of the national restart a heart day campaign. We hope to do the same again next year and get even more people trained.”

Kim Brown, SeBeau Health Visiting added, “I came up with the idea for this event a few months ago and then pulled together this wonderful team to help. I’m so proud to have pulled it off. Yesterday we were onsite at the Portakabin, head office in York. We trained over a sixth of the workforce there in one day. It was fantastic’

great review and such a valid point. It’s super important to have this life saving skill at any age, but even more so for the elderly. Let’s hope we get some more people along to be trained next year. A bigger and better event!!

“We were so grateful to have had the opportunity to attend the training session.   It was very well presented and most informative covering so many vital points in such a short time.

For many years now we have been keen to go on a first aid course but whenever we approached relevant organisations, like St. John Ambulance, we found that they were only entertaining group bookings – ideal for clubs, schools or businesses but not aimed at a couple of old retirees like us.   We are both now well into our eighties and many of our circle of friends fall into a similar age bracket so we are acutely aware that an emergency calling upon the need for CPR, the use of a defibrillator or other knowledge covered by your training session could well be around the next corner.   We hope not but we have always felt that we would probably find it hard to forgive ourselves were we to fail to assist as a result of our ignorance.”

Donna Parkinson, Senior HR Business Partner, from Portakabin, modular construction expert comments: “With over 600 people on our York site, we were delighted to be able to offer this session, free of charge, to any employee willing to volunteer their time. We are honoured to be able to play our part to support this valuable initiative.”

“The feedback from everyone who attended the training was absolutely fantastic. Thank you to The University of York for giving us the facilities and to the British Heart Foundation for their support. We also raised over £100 for the BHF on the day, such a worthy cause” Nina Copely, Orchestrate Events

Both Kim and Michele offer this kind of training in schools and businesses, please do get in touch with us if you’d like to arrange to have your team trained.
